Since our founding in 2010, the Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Branch library supported many library initiatives and projects.

The following represents just a sampling of the many ways the Friends have supported the library using proceeds from our semi-annual book sales, membership dues, donations, and Book Nook sales:

  • New furniture for the library main areas and Annex
  • Display cases in the lobby
  • Barcode scanners
  • Maintenance of the fish tank in the lobby
  • Book supports
  • Museum pass program
  • Summer reading programs for children, young adults, and adults
  • Support for professional development opportunities for library staff
  • BeeBots (for early STEM engagement)
  • SD card readers
  • Charging bricks for mobile devices
  • Books for baby storytime attendees
  • Pilates classes at the library
  • Promotional materials for library programs and events
  • Laminating machine
  • Books for the Mother-Daughter Book Club
  • Circus Flow program
  • Reading Olympics books
  • New audiovisual equipment and podium in the Annex
  • Stools for the customer service desk
  • New paint for the library book carts
  • Adult Craft Series
  • Next Chapter Book Club support

These projects would not be possible without the generous support of the Friends group members and library patrons!

If you’d like to help the library even more, either by donating funds for much-needed items or by volunteering your time, please contact the Friends.
